As the founder and head coach of GMA, Steve is a 1st Degree Black Belt with a passion for teaching BJJ. Steve is determined to not simply be an Instructor but a coach determined to guide all his students to achieve their goals.

With over 17 years of experience in several different forms of martial arts earning three black belts- Japanese Jiu Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Shoot Fighting. While training under some of the best Martial Arts, Boxing, Kickboxing and MMA instructors from around the world, he has developed a deep understanding of the fighting arts, and a love of coaching and helping others on their martial arts journeys.

Steve has competed in many Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitions, winning his way to the podium at State, National and Pan-Pacific titles at every belt level including back to back Pan-Pacific gold medals.

Steve has focused the last 8 years of his career on coaching, and has developed systems to help build his student’s understanding of fundamental and advanced techniques and movements.

Many Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gyms across Victoria and South Australia have invited Steve to teach seminars and share his knowledge with their students.
